Girl Scout Cookies

The negotiation Haleigh and Doug had after church this week about how he would trade two kisses, a glass of Pepsi and five thin mints in exchange for her to eat a "row" of thin mints from his stash...

reminded me that I never posted about the project we've had going on at our house for months that finished in March.  Here goes:

Here is the warehouse that houses the cookies for our region.  It was quite an operation and very organized.  The troop leader and I loaded hundreds of boxes for a few hours to bring back to her garage.  Not bad for a pregnant lady, right?

They account for every single box and pay the warehouse owner for letting us use his space with one box of samoas each.  I'd at least hold out for one of each flavor! :)

Here is my van filled to the rim!

This is what Doug bought from Haleigh.  She wanted to be cookie queen and sell the most in her troop which gives her a crown and sash, but she only sold around 500 and was beat by one other girl who sold over 700.  Haleigh earned enough for a few prizes, three badges and a trip to a 3 day 2 night summer camp with horses this summer.

My den organized into delivery piles

Haleigh playing with the cash register I bought at the book warehouse last year for 5 dollars.  They played store with the cookies for hours to practice making change.

The cookie booth at Harmons Grocery one saturday.  Haleigh stayed for 9 hours plus 3 more on another Saturday!  More than any other girl.  She did a great job.  Here is our troop leader taking pictures of the girls.

Here's my view from across the room as I downed a really good salad and watched them work hard.

Haleigh when she was in charge of the money box.

Haleigh described this as her cute face that sells a lot of boxes

And her not so cute face that doesn't sell any boxes.

Me supervising...

The grown ups

After her long Saturday shift at cookie booths, she got in the car, snuggled her new duck and we went out for ice cream.  I asked if she was tired and she said with the biggest sigh and yawn I'd ever seen, "No." Asleep three minutes later.

Cookie booth day #2.  She was stylin' on that day.

We are now officially done for the year with cookies!  Hip Hip Hooray!

I totally missed out! Let me know when it's cookie time again! Do they just sell them at certain locations or can I order them directly through Haleigh?
