Challenger Card

One day Carter told me that some kids at the junior high have their parents drop off their lunch a few times a week from good places like subway or pizza.  He asked it I would do that.  I told him that he'd have to earn that kind of awesome gesture.

Which is how he and I came up with our first Challenge for he and his friends.  If they completed it, I'd bring pizza for lunch.  Here's what it looked like. They did it for about two months, turned it in to me and I brought five pizzas one day for lunch for the many, many 12 year old boys that did it. I think we've got a new tradition.

The Challenger Card #1

My little trio

Every morning, I've got three little guys still at home while the other three go off to school.  My afternoons go down to two at home with one napping.  It's interesting how each year, the schedule kind of changes and you have to adjust to whatever phase of life you are in.

Our phase of life right now includes a lot of staying at home.  It's hard to go on outings with a half-day kindergartner, or taking three little ones anywhere.  Our occasional outings are really fun, but most of the time, we spend our mornings doing what little boys do.

Watching cartoons...

Making bubble hats.  Wyatt isn't too happy this morning.

Taking our time eating breakfast.  Louis is known for having a HUGE breakfast and taking his time savoring it all.

Wyatt learned to roll his eyes at mom that day.  My innocent angel now has a mini-attitude.  It begins! Oh No!

Getting ready for school

Interrupting mom's netflix in a bubble bath time by blowing bubbles at her.

Pretending to fall asleep in the car when we go out so someone will carry him in.

Nap time with a ba ba.

Awake time with a ba ba.  I tell you he has a secret stash somewhere because I keep taking those away and "losing them."

Outings to the store.  Side note:  a major pet peeve are kids who hang on my cart.

Wyatt has recently discovered he likes posing next to cool things.  "Take a picture of me, Mom!"

IPad time

Silly faces while Mom makes lunch...

Waking up next to mom after crawling in her bed, and doing our morning stretches, then going back to sleep.

Stealing Mom's study snacks...

I may take a lot of photos of a lot of nothing, but to me they show the magic of being little with nothing to do and nowhere to go.  I love that phase and am so happy that I can be home to let them enjoy being little.

Girl's Hair

With five sons and one daughter, I have to treasure the girl moments.  One of the perks of having a wonderful daughter is the joy of doing her hair.  I'm serious.  It's really fun to think up hair styles, play beauty shop together and be girly together.  Here are some hair pics of Haleigh's latest 'do's.

She woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

Look at that stink eye!

My gorgeous long-haired preteen!

Clouds

I have a thing for clouds. I notice when there is a day with not a cloud in the sky.  I notice when there are clouds and what type they are.  I point clouds out to my kids very often.  I love when they are white and fluffy or also dark and looming.  We call those Harry Potter clouds.  I don't know what it is about clouds but I simply love them.  Here are some pics of my favorites lately.

Basketball

Our late winter months seem to be spent at the basketball courts.  This year I signed Doug up to coach both Miles and Carter's teams.  It was a little crazy but the kids had a good time with their dad.

This was Doug's game position due to his hurt knee.

Lots of practice outside since we had very little snow this year.

Keeping the kids busy on the sidelines.

A few Carter shots...
