Feb pics

Here's the update from February...

I caught Haleigh reading by flashlight so Max could go to sleep in her room.  Aaahh... brings back so many memories of myself!

Miles is loving his new watch and tells us what time it is about every hour.

Haleigh taught some of the boys dance routines.  Look at that second picture of Louis jumping on the couch!  No wonder everything in our house is broken!

Taco night is almost every sunday where the kids load up what they like.  This is Max's taco with a cookie on it.  Yuck!  Nice try, buddy!

I can't tell you how much grief this dog is giving us lately.  He loves to run off and visit dog friends in the neighborhood and come back like 10 hours later!  I don't know what to do about it! The babies keep opening up the doors whenever he begs and then he disappears.  Sigh!

Haleigh getting ready for the day...

Louis did Show and Teach for his kindergarten class.  He taught how to make Purple Cow smoothies.

Doug shaved off his beard and is trying out a mustache.  I've had lots of fun teasing him.

Piano practice..

Nail biting moments reading The Hunger Games trilogy...

We found the bed she wants but in the wrong color.

VDay

Our Valentines was low-key and fun.  First, we prepped our Valentine's while having a popcorn party.  Carter's face here is funny.  He likes to pose with faces instead of smiling lately.  Nice surprised look, Dude.  The preparing of valentines is more fun than getting them.

Then on the actual Vday, Doug took us out to breakfast which is one of our favorite things to do.  Probably because I'm a bad mom and never cook them a hot meal in the morning.  We are a cereal family most days.

I also helped in Haleigh's class with an chocolate tasting activity with the percentages of cacao.

Valentines rounded out with a date for Chinese food and this mountain which we saved for later since that thing was huge!

Mom Trip

I recently had to go to Logan for a few days to attend a workshop.  The kids weren't too happy about me leaving.  Haleigh and Louis in particular are terrible at goodbye's.  I'm usually like "See ya!"  when I say bye to people but they have a harder time.

The traditional goodbye booty shake.

On my way, Siri and I returned a lot of calls and texts in three hours of peaceful quiet driving in the car.  This reply from Siri made me laugh.

I won't bore you with all the details of writing million dollar grants but I will say that my trip was so fun to be alone for a few days, eat at my favorite places and sleep peacefully with no one crawling in my bed.  One night when I was eating my favorite stuff at my favorite place, all the old grandmas also eating there were looking at me with such pity and looks of encouragement since I was alone at a restaurant.  I wanted to shout at them, "Don't feel sorry for me!  This is AWESOME!  I'm having a wonderful Me Party."

Overall, great trip.  I want to do another Me Party very soon.

Girl Time

What do you do when your daughter is home sick with a cold, but you have a gift card, coupons and there is also a sale at a very cute girl store nearby?  Get her out of bed, make her get dressed and go shopping, of course.  We ended up using our gift cards buying a lot of cute outfits at 90% off.  I was quite proud of myself about those deals.

She loved the dress up part too and forgot she was sick for a while.

I love this girl!

More January

January was the perfect weather, I love mild winters!

Here's the low-down on how we kept busy.

One night I bought hamburger patties from Costco and those things are huge! I usually just form my own.

Wyatt got new Ninja Turtle shoes that made him very proud!

"Show me your shoes Wyatt!"

Follow up picture because he dressed himself with two shirts on.  I love three year olds!

Going shopping for a birthday party gift.

Haleigh stole my glasses and took some selfies.

A highlight of Monday mornings is when the garbage truck arrives.

Carter and Haleigh began piano lessons.

Wyatt doing homework next to Mom doing homework.

Going to see Big Hero 6 at the movie theater.  We LOVED it!  We buy the big refillable bucket of popcorn and dump them in these dollar store ones.

I love this pic!

Doug got his MRI and saw an orthopedic surgeon who told him that he tore his ACL and had five fractures in his knee.  No surgery needed at this time since he's walking and recovering well but he has to do physical therapy.

He's chosen to do it himself (He used to be a PhysicalTherapy tech) and uses the kids for his strength building exercises.  Here here is loading up Haleigh for a piggy back ride up the stairs to build strength.

Preparing for 100 day celebrations at school by counting 100s of something.

Lots of reading and waiting in the car for people at lessons

Eat at school day with one of the rare times we go to Subway.  That place is expensive when buying for 8.

Louis found my fake mustache from Halloween and wore it to match his shirt one day.  That kid is hilarious!

Max enjoying our new Harry Potter snuggly shirt/blanket.

Max getting into my makeup...AGAIN!

I caught Haleigh brushing her hair before bedtime.  She likes to do it in front of the fan so that it blows nicely backwards.  Funny...

Getting ready for church wearing his favorite "Inspector Gadget" church coat.  Everyone in my family loves to photobomb.

Heading off to church one day with  my little men.

Doug on a business trip facetiming us.
