Summer in June

A long post but chock full of how we've been keeping six kids busy this summer.

I introduced the kids to In N Out and they loved it.  We went back to there when we saw Inside Out.

They think the burgers look exactly like crabby patties from Spongebob.

Haleigh caught a picture of Carter and I.  I have no idea what either one of is doing.

Splash pad time. The kids spend half the time laying on the warm ground since the water is so cold.

We always spend the first few days of summer doing a few projects.  Here is one where we create little baggies of goodies, unusual candy and sodas for any birthday parties for the whole year.

Carter has been in a hair mood lately.  He spends a lot of time making it look just perfect.

One day Louis dressed like a ninja and then would karate attack all our stuffed animals.

I discovered Arctic Circle lemonades.  This huckleberry one is VERY good.

Here's us watching the Father's Day movie that the kids made.

We've been pulling so many weeks in the yard and garden that both Doug and I got blisters from the shovels.  Ouch.

I threw a double baby shower for friends with these invites with chocolates in the cute white boxes and tons of good food.  The kids were happy when the party was over so they could dive in to the left overs.

We hung out with cousins and the boys had a blast eating smore's and burgers.

Trips to the dentist.

Sleeping in

More splash pad visits with a picnic lunch.

My grandma invited me to accompany her to a dinner with her investment group which involved playing Bingo.  We had SO much fun and I even won a gift card.  I want to buy a bingo set now. It was in a beautiful building by a golf course.

Another project was fixing our birthday wreath that hangs on the door.

Haleigh sewed some pillows for her brother's birthdays.  Not pictured, I sewed the boys curtains.  It's very noteworthy because I never sew.  It was actually kind of fun.

Miles had a baptism preview that he and I attended and he loved the ice cream treat at the end.

Here's how Haleigh get's the boys dressed for church.  With a pirate sword.  Dress or walk the plank!

Little Willy Wonka got neutered and has been an angel ever since.

Father's Day

For fathers day this year, I gave Doug this awesome can crusher, which has now gone down in family history as the worst present ever.  I still like it, but he thought it was kind of lame.  We also gave him some books on organizational change that he likes, and Carter made him a movie where the kids were interviewed with questions about dad.  Another gift he got was a tiller since our garden is large, and Doug loves to work outside.  I think he now has adopted the rule I used to have as a newlywed...no gifts that are appliances, but I've moved on since then and really want that kind of stuff.  Him, not so much.

Anyways, Happy Father's Day to a great husband and Dad.  We love you, Doug!
