VDay Family Fun

Carter showing Doug his stuff from Valentine's Day Parties at school.

The sad, sad collection of valentine's decorations that we have.  They are all homemade and cute but it's not much!

Prepping for Carter's Valentine's Day party which I was in charge of.  See my teacher blog at mpflory.blogspot.com for the full party plan.

It took Carter about three days to deliver all the party supplies to the school.  He made himself a hat on day three just for fun.

Haleigh sharing her valentine's day cards with me.  She could read every kids name in her class.

Miles got their leftovers and was happy about it!  As long as it was about Toy story.

A gift from Doug to me on V-Day.  I've been craving strawberries like crazy.  They lasted less than five minutes.  I was playing around with my new camera and was taking pictures of everything I saw.

My new technology toys

Thank goodness!  Doug got me the best present for Valentine's Day.  A new camera.  My old one had broken at Christmas during a trip and I've been using my cell phone, which is torture for a pathological picture taker like me.  Here it is!   I love it!  I have the manual sitting close by awaiting time to read every word but for the past few weeks, I've just had time to play with it occasionally.

Doug also let me invest in some teaching tools I've been wanting...a projector and screen to use for my church calling, family functions, or whenever I need it.  Since buying it, other people have asked about it and we've even loaned it out twice so I'm glad it's finding a use to my "indulgence."  Here's how my speech went to Doug.  "Uh,  I really, really want one."  "Why?  When would you use it?"  "I'm not sure exactly but I think it would come in handy."  "For what?"  "Movies outside in the summer?"  "What else?"  "Uh...I don't know yet.  Can I refill that pepsi for you and rub your back?  You look like you've had a hard day at work."  As you can see my persuasive argument (or soft hands) worked and below are my new toys.

BYU BBall

Doug's phone pictures aren't great, but the kids had a good time at their first basketball game here in Utah.  They are used to going to these types of events in Arizona, so it was fun to get out and see some sports with their Dad.  Haleigh now wants to be a cheerleader all the time and they brought home T-shirts for everyone.  It's a good year to go see them play too since they are doing so well!
