PhD update

No one ever asks me about school but I thought I'd post on here for my own fading memory (or empty brain space).  One day for homework, we were asked to be creative with our video posts so I had Haleigh lipsinc my comments. She did a great job and was pretty funny!

I helped with my first research project "in the field" and drove out to a small town called Roosevelt to teach some teachers about writing research.  We are in the process of writing up the study for publication.

Having a Dog

We have a cute little Yorkie named Willy Wonka.  He loves to sleep with Carter, sneak the crumbs that Max drops and keep Wyatt company all day long.  He got lost one day and after driving around looking for him for hours and hours...he discovered him in the next door neighbors backyard hanging out with their dog after digging under the fence.

Girl Scouts

I've saved up a few months of girl scout pictures for this one post.  She has been busy earning badges and selling cookies to help pay for her camps.  She was cracking me up as she collected her cookie money because she would look so sweetly at the door, and when they turned around, she would whip around and give me an evil face.

Here she is taking a lunch break after doing cookie booths for 9 hours one day!

Max is 2!

Our little baby is a baby no more.  Max turned two and we celebrated with his favorite...french fries and ice cream.  The big gift was a new jeep to drive around the neighborhood.  It was a great deal too...(free! Thanks Lynette!)

Watching your brother have a birthday is hard.  Wyatt was so sad the whole time.  It's no fair!

May pics

May came and went!  These random posts are sometimes my favorites!

Here's a picture of me that Miles took when I had two boys jumping on me.  I was sneezing at the time.  Nice...not!

Here's Max sitting on my head at family night.  Why is someone's always sitting on me?

Here's a picture of Doug on his first day of work, working from home.  He was just kidding.... he wore real pants and not these cookie monster PJs, don't worry.

We took all the kids to the dentist and only had 3 fillings among the 6 of them.  Pretty good!  Unfortunately, we also had one extraction for a dead tooth for Miles and so he had to go back to the dentist the next day and loose his first tooth.  He forgot about the pain when he got a new tooth fairy pillow.  Poor Miles!

Michelle's Date Nights

The funny thing about this post is that not all my dates are with Doug.  Carter likes to come with me on all my author adventures and so we make a date night out of it.

Here we are after having a dinner with one of my book organizations.  He's laughing at Brandon Mull, my brother's best friend.  (It's a long story...)

After that we found an awesome new park and played there till the sun set.  The library there was really pretty at night too!

I went out with Doug to see Brian Regan recently and like always, he was hilarious!!  We tried a new restaurant called Station 22 in Provo that is famous for their chicken and waffles, a southern favorite.  I got the chicken sandwich which was amazing!  Their wall of soda pops was very fun to try too!

Finally, I got to go see an old/new friend who was a student of mine, but we've decided to be best buds now.  She is an avid book collector like me and we had a ball at a vintage store in SLC and out for dinner.  Let's play again soon Erica!
