Since it's almost summer, I thought I'd better post this about spring. This is our second year experiencing springs in Utah and we've come to the same conclusion as last year. Spring is weird. Hot, then snow, then windy, then nice. We enjoyed spending this spring in our new house and discovering what sorts of things would pop up after the snow melted.
Here is the truck dumping our organic compost for our garden. Of course, it snowed that day so it had to be dumped on the road and left there till the snow melted. Every neighborhood boy played in it for days and I'd have to remind them that it wasn't a pile of dirt, it was a pile of fertilizer...which made them stop sitting in the "pile of poop" and throw it at their friends instead.
Our family spent an entire saturday moving the dirt/poo to the backyard in buckets, wagons, wheelbarrows, etc. We were exhausted!
The first tulips
The beautiful blooming trees in the front yard. They were covered in bees for many days. Did you know that you can't spray or kill bees in Utah because it is the Beehive state? I'm not liking that rule.

Our front yard in spring...grass is getting greener. Arizona people will never underestimate the wonderfulness of grass.
We planted fruit trees and decorated rocks to go under them. 3 apple, 1 pear, 1 cherry, 1 nectarine, and 2 peach. We then were told that it was too close to the fence and had to move them. Sigh.
Clearing the garden area of tons of bark, weeds, weed cover and frozen ground. Took many many weekends.
The flower boxes cleaned out and ready for herbs and berries.
The first daffodils of spring. I had one bush and want to plant more next year. I've learned the order of flowers to emerge are daffodils, then tulips, then all the others.
