July Flew By

One day in July, all the kids were arguing and so I had had it.  I put them all in time out in the TV room on the couches and told them to sit there until they could be nice and get along.  I intended for it to be hours, and I was fine with that.  They were told that they were to stay on those couches and not move until I said so and then I left to let them work it out.  After about 45 minutes, I came to check on them and all 6 were still sitting on the couches but had gotten past the grumbling stage, past the blaming stage and were playing Simon Says while sitting.  I eavesdropped for a while.  They said things like, "Touch toes, scratch the bum of your stuffed animal, look at Carters shirt, etc." It was pretty funny and I decided to free them from bondage.

In other July happenings:

Breakfast with hats one day...

A trip to Brick Oven for pizza when Dad came home from a business trip to TX.  We got all the fun drinks to try and pass around.

Max spent hours having fun with his diaper box.

Post church, no pants dance a thon.

I'm a bit behind like usual, so July was full of finally looking at the pile of school stuff that had come home a month earlier.  Carter's English notebook was pretty impressive with color coded notes.  We loved his teacher last year, and were sad to see her move.

The King and his Prince.  Very serious faces, indeed.

What our meal prep looks like most meals, paper plates in assembly line style to make it fast and easy to clean up.

Copy Haleigh exercise time.  She can get those little brothers to do anything!

Trips to the library

Sitting on the front porch time.

Max wore socks as puppet hands for pretty much the whole month.

I had Haleigh help me with a primary and FHE lesson about sin.  I marked up her face with all kinds of makeup and had the kids clean it off with wipeys when they repented, but some had to be removed with makeup remover or the Atonement.  It was fun.

My phone got hacked at church by the babies.

Haleigh and I played beauty shop, which basically means she practices her braiding and hair skills while I relax, surf my phone and watch Hart to Hart longing for the days of feathered hair.

We went to our cousins' birthday party where they had rented a 35 foot water slide.  It came with a referee and was very fun.  Carter and I snuck off to the temple and came back later for Haleigh since it was a girl party.

Max discovered that he could ride the rotating fan and sing cool songs through the back of it.

We read all the Friend magazines that had piled up and I ripped out the pages I wanted to use for FHE.

I taught all the kids about game shows.  They didn't know what they were.  They ended up liking Wheel of Fortune, Price is Right, and Family Feud the best.

Outside play time, yard work, and lots of popsicles.

Slumber parties in mom's room because we can all fit in there. Here's a pic of each kids specially designed bed including two blankets, a pillow, a stuffed animal, a toy, and a few books.  Oh, and their dreamlights.  Those things are the best.

Special deliver to the slumber party

We went to the Museum of Curiosity before our pass expired.

Here are the two boys watching a show while I do homework.
