They like me! They really really like me!

I just figured out that I had some sort of comment moderation on and had a ton of friendly thoughts and love sent my way but they weren't "published." With a push of a button, I had a ton of past ones show up. Thanks everyone!

Baby Boy!

He's here and perfect in every way! Pictures to come soon. I entered the hospital Sunday night at 9 and 15 hours later he was born. It was a long and hard labor. I thank the heavens above for modern drugs!

Louis J Flory was born on August 24 weighing 8 lbs. 14 oz. We can't stop staring at him, he's so cute. Michelle is recovering well and will be home Wednesday.

False Alarms make Grumpy Mommies

Last night from 2 till 7 am we thought things were in motion and then BAM everything stopped. I got my hopes up only to be disappointed, tired, and grumpy. To top it all off, at the doctors today, we were told that I hadn't "progressed" much since last week. That was hard to hear since I was in labor for 5 hours last night. The doctor did say that he hates the term False Labor since your body does really go through everything that true labor does, but just stops and is irregular.

Anyway, I'm now only 70 percent grumpy knowing that I'm scheduled to be induced Sunday night unless things happen naturally before then. The kids are excited to know when the baby might come. Hopefully tonights sleep will include a few hours of rest with little interruption.

Slide Shows

I've ventured into the really techno area of slide shows and boy was it a nuisance. I think they turned out cute unless you get motion sickness easily. I think it is quite sad that I had to go back a decade to find some photos of myself that were half decent. Doug said that at least in mine I was conscious. The photos I chose of him were of him falling asleep in a variety of places around the house. That is one hard worker. I wish I could sleep that easily!

Hip Hip Hooray...Pizza Day

Yesterday was exciting for the Flory kids. It was hot lunch day. Carter gets to circle one or two days on the cafeteria menu for hot lunch. He always picks pizza day with the second being the occasional corn dog, nachos or chicken nuggets day. I, myself, was a school chicken nugget with mashed potatoes fan. I recall buying an ice cream sandwich on Fridays for a quarter too.

How about you all? What was your favorite school lunch? Oh...he just reminded me. He chose a chocolate milk carton too. I can't forget that! Haleigh had to keep up at home with a pizza lunchable. Boy those sure look like they have a 50 year shelf life. Yuck. I prefer Papa Johns. Their BBQ chicken bacon pizza is awesome. Oh Great! Now I want pizza.

First day of school

Well, it happened again. I cried on the first day of school.

I dropped off Carter for his first day of second grade and you've never seen a more excited kid in your life. He sprang from bed and decided to take a bath to "smell good and look his best." Then began a whole routine of things he wanted to do to prepare including mouse, gel, hairspray, brush teeth four times, wear his new school shirt, his new heelies, and get all his supplies ready to load. We walked him to his line and with a quick kiss he completely forgot about us and chatted away with his old and new friends. I surprised myself for the third year in a row by crying. I'm a teacher for heavens sake-you'd think I'd get over the first day of school tears but I suppose it's different when you're a mom and your baby isn't a baby anymore. I can see it now... he begins his senior year of high school and there I am taking photos and blubbering at the front gate of the school, waving till I can't see him anymore. Boy...mom's are weird!

Baby Update

Went to my doctors appt today and am 36 weeks and 4 days along. If the baby comes now-there will no interference or stopping it. This week we've gotten a lot done-crib is set up, Miles has switched rooms and has a new bed, the baby clothes are out and clean (just awaiting a new chest of drawers) and baby food and diapers are starting to fill up the cupboards. Doug plans to pack my hospital bag tonight. He likes to do that and fill it with things to make me comfortable like magazines, snacks, comfort items and of course fun socks to accompany my lovely hospital gown. I've had a hard time getting excited but now that its closer and we are more prepared, I am less stressed and smiling more! :)
