Earlier this year, we were contacted that Doug's father whom he hadn't seen for over 25 years was found on his death bed in Florida. Our contact information from a christmas card was found in his apartment. We'd been sending out christmas cards to whatever address we could find for over a decade with no luck, so we were shocked to know one landed. Weeks later, he passed away. It was difficult to not only mourn his death but also mourn the way he lived his life with the information we learned about those missing years. The obituary wasn't too long, and Doug was involved with the arrangements. We are still awaiting a package with the letters and photos found in his home.
