It seems like we are at the school all the time. I've promised myself that I'll say no more next year. Here are some school events that finished up the year.
Haleigh did the RAD kids program which is a mix of stranger danger and self defense. She thought it was fun, but I thought it was a little above their heads about why they were learning it. She thought she was going to get kidnapped by a stranger for a month!
I did the parent teacher conference dinner again. This time was a mexican theme and I had chips and salsa in a sombrero and a variety of enchilada's. Carter and Haleigh love to help me set up for that because they get to go in the teacher's lounge and later eat the leftovers.
My favorite thing to volunteer for is the Book Fair. I usually take these two guys with me to help straighten books, although they ended up under the cashiers table eating snacks most of the time. I always get a big pile of books that are new and read them when no one is in the fair. Plus, I get a free book everytime I work. Haleigh and Carter pop in during their recess time to help too.
For principal appreciation day, I helped plan a hollywood theme and had the principal be the director for the day with dress up clothes and a golf cart. The kids loved it and followed him around all day! I also helped with the teacher appreciation plans and brought in dress up clothes and my karaoke machine for the teachers to perform at lunch time and earn a raffle ticket for one of four prize baskets. I also went to the local theater to get movie posters and changed the pictures a bit. Overall, a great success!
While I was there one morning, I stuck around to hear Carter do the school announcements. He had missed his first chance, been sick his second chance and so his third and final attempt was a big deal. He did great and I took pictures of it through the principals door window.

Holy cow, Michelle! You are now the elected party planner:) I will have to hand over my baton. Where in the world do you find the time to do all you do, plus school??? Oh, right, you don't sleep:) Having 6 kids is supposed to be a great excuse why we're too busy to do all the projects:) Seriously, I'm impressed. That's a lot of work, and looks like you did some really fun things for the teachers. You are giving your kids such a great example to look up to, in service and such. They are very lucky!
