Hmmm...haven't written on here for a while so I'll just let my stream of consciousness flow while I remind Miles to go to bed every 3 minutes. What have we been up to lately? Carter started back to school today after a week off for spring break and I was sad to see him go. I love having him home. The other three little ones plus one little friend and one big friend and I went to run errands today. That was fun and I realized that I talk too much and love having a friend to talk too much to. Wish you weren't moving, Alexis! :(
Heard they are having a sale at Old Navy on skirts this week. I hope I make it over there to check it out.
Tonight is Dancing with the Stars premiere. I love that show and all dancing shows, really. Other shows I like: Chuck, White Collar, Bachelor, Project Runway, most Disney shows with the kids, America's Next Top Model, 20 kids and counting
Shows I used to watch that have faded away from my DVR for some reason or other: Biggest Loser, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy.
Books I have read lately: Hunger Games: loved it, Book of Mormon: almost done, Strength Finders: a good business book, 6 Day Body Makeover: inspiring, Harry Potter and Prisoner of Azkaban: reading with Carter, Catching Fire: Just started.
Things we did over spring break: stay in PJ's one day--it was great, bought a trampoline which the kids have been on nonstop, trip to the ER and orthopedic surgeon for a broken arm for Haleigh, trip to the mountains for fun in a hotel with swimming and hot tubs, hiking to Slide Rock which was full of amazing scenery and rapids, got a flat tire, towed and fixed with all four kids, princess and the frog movie with popcorn and root beer floats, sleepover at grandma's with girls night out with my sis who treated me to tons of appetizers and milkshakes followed up by staying up way too late giggling, burned two batches of cookies but made one good helping of Easter sugar cookies, gave the house a good cleaning-even in the pantry and fridge...they needed it! slept in one day while Doug made pancakes...I didn't want to get up that day.
Things to look forward to before school gets out: catching up on my scrapbooking and typing up two family history projects I'm working on. It's so interesting to me to read about my relatives past and present. Definitely a fun and rewarding hobby, hopefully a romantic getaway with Doug..., getting house ready to rent, continuing exercise routine and hopefully seeing some results. Normal hormones would be nice. Having time away from textbooks and more time writing, playing with the kids.
(When is this little guy going to fall asleep already?????)
I need to find someone who makes plaques out of cute wood boards with vinyl: saying I want are "I Can Do Hard Things" and "Be Still and Know That I am God" to put in our breakfast area. I remember having quotes and things that I would stare at during breakfast and meals when I was little and they really do stick with you. I've memorized quite a few things over the years while eating cereal.
Latest personal goals are: follow every worthy thought. By following every prompting I have...you become more in tune with your best self, inner conscious or as I believe...Holy Spirit. I've been doing it since Christmas and have had some wonderful moments that I might have missed. Also, notice the little joys each day. Today's little joy was Louis (8 months old) sighing with contentment after eating and getting sleepy in my arms, Miles's hugs that knock you over because he literally jumps into them, Haleigh singing Huff the Magic Dragon which grandpa sang to her last week, a very contagious baby laugh from Louis when Haleigh fake sneezes. I want to start writing them down because there are so many each day when you start to notice them.
Pet Peeves lately: kids who say "Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom" over and over till I pay attention, my kids friends who come over to play and open up our drawers, the excuse people use of being too busy for things--we're all busy! We've all got 24 hours. Those people who use the "it's not my job" or "what's in it for me" attitude.
Yeah....he's finally asleep. Now on to my 2 hours of kid free nights! Thanks for listening to my rambling. Good therapy.
