After a LONG time we were able to take a family vacation to see my sister and her family in California. The next few blog posts will share all the fun. First, the packing. It is a post all of it's own because packing for 8 people is a hard thing! First we make a list like the one below and then send the kids off to get all those things and bring them back to a central location like my room. Each kid gets a backpack of stuff for the car and then we combine suitcases.
The loading of the car is always a task because they want to load up as we are doing it due to excitement. By the way, I just love our huge old passenger van. Tons of room for stuff, people and great for trips.
We always stop in St. George at this Denny's and they always give us the same table (the biggest one). They think it is the coolest because of all the choices.
We stopped for dinner in California at a place that had a McDonalds in a train. Wyatt was in heaven. I thought there were a lot of weirdo's there.

We reached the base and got checked into our own house. Cousin fun begins!
