Harvest Time

We are really grateful this year with being unemployed for so long, for the generosity of our neighbors, church and family.  Many, many people have brought over things from their garden's.

One day I decided to take a picture from the things my Grandma sent home with me.  There was much more on other occasions such as peaches, apricots, tomatoes, onions, squash, and on and on.  I've had quite a time learning what to do with all of it. I've learned to stew tomatoes for chili, spaghetti, etc.  I knew how to do jam before.

I've made new recipe's like cucumber salad, broccoli cheese soup, and stuffed zucchini.  I've also had to bribe the kids with a scoop of ice cream practically every day to make them each this many vegetables.  I'm not above bribery.

I've frozen quite a bit, and realize that I need a lot of equipment like a cold pack, canning jars, buckets with lids, a pressure cooker, a Bosch, and vacuum pack.  Over time, I think those would be useful.
