Halloween Decorations

We've kept things to a minimal this year since it's all in storage, but I did manage to dig out a few things to make the Halloween season fun for the kids.  I like to get a few new things each year.  This years additions were just rainbow pumpkins for the kids candy.  I couldn't find them in storage, so we had to get new ones.   I wished I could've gotten more cute decorations.  I especially wanted to do window decorations like a neighbor of ours has but it'll have to wait till I have a house of my own.  Check my other blog for pictures of that.  Of course, Grandma sent the kids some cute halloween socks!

Witches at Gardner's Village

There is a place here called Gardners Village that is free and really fun to go to.  We took the kids earlier in October.  It was actually a hot day in the upper 80's.  We decided to count the witches and if we saw 25, we'd get them a donut at the bakery.  There were 70 total, but we skipped the bakery because it was packed.  Instead we got a corn on the cob to share (try splitting one cob six ways...) and headed home.  It was very fun and the kids have already made plans to go with our cousins next year when they are back in country.

I want this on a plaque for my house:  "Remember, as far as anyone knows, we are a nice normal family."

General Conference Weekend

This year for General Conference, where our prophet's speak every six months, Doug decided to take Carter.  So many people asked us when they heard, "How did you get tickets?"   Uhh...we just asked.  Apparently not many people go around here.  I don't know why!  They took the train up and had fun on Saturday.  The rest of us are pictured below lying around enjoying the weekend.

Carter decided to make his own organ which the kids loved taking turns with.

Miles's Class

Miles was able to go to a 6 week class at the local library where he learned all about cars, trains, planes and trucks.  He hates sitting still for story time but is so focused on craft time.  Give that kid a pair of scissors and he'll sit still for an hour.

Field Trip

Haleigh was very excited in October to go on her very first field trip into the mountains for a picnic and fall scavenger hunt.  She brought a lunchable and couldn't wait to ride the school bus.  Carter is still waiting to hear if he gets to go on one.
