I Promise to do my Best...

I can't believe I have a son old enough to be in scouts.  I think he looks really cute.  I was surprised by a few things with this new program we are in.  #1.  The scout uniform is not cheap.  I was told to buy it at a used clothes store, but decided to buy a new one.  It was a big bill.
#2.  I have the scout pledge already memorized from my brothers being in scouts.  I felt pretty cool.
#3.  Passing off badges is really fun.  He's having a great time.
#4.  I don't know how to sew and it took me forever to sew on a few patches and hem his pants.  I felt like I needed way more practice.
#5.  I need to learn the language of scouting:  den, pack, etc.

You'll be Ventilated...

A few days before school started, Doug and the kids had an end of summer campout in the backyard.  It's a good thing we didn't go too far because the kids wanted to bring half their room outside too.  Toys, books, stuffed animals, etc.  As long as they cleaned it all up, it was fine with us.  I'm more of a hotel/cabin kind of girl, so I stayed inside for the night.  They had a good time, even though they got a little chilled at night.
